Transforming a Smoked Pork Loin into Culinary Delight

Updated: Jan 19

I came up with this great idea to try to smoke something. I have a gas grill but I found a smoking tube attached to it I can use. I headed to the store and bought some pellets. I started with the mix of Maple, Oak and Cherry. These seem to do fine on just about any meat. It took me a couple of days to gain the courage to try it. Finally, Sunday morning before church I got the grill ready with the smoking tube. I let the pellets burn down a bit then started smoking the Pork Loin. The results:

Just look at the juiciness of that Pork Loin. My goodness, it will make your mouth water just looking at it. I added some orange marmalade on it while it was resting. Great idea!

Smoked Pork Loin

Ingredients

  • Pork Loin

  • Olive Oil

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Garlic Powder

  • Orange Marmalade

Directions

  1. Pat the loin dry. Rub the oil, salt, pepper and garlic all over the loin.

  2. Start your smoker and get it to 225 degrees. (Remember, we are going low and slow)

  3. Put the loin on opposite side of the flames. Do an off-set cook.

  4. Smoke for 3-4 hours or until it reaches 155 degrees.

  5. Take the loin off the grill and put the marmalade all over it.

  6. Tent it with foil and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Just look at all that deliciousness! You could resist the temptation of eating it? Not me.
